Saint Lucia Kings emerged victorious in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, clinching their maiden title with a spectacular win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in a thrilling final. The match, held at the Guyana National Stadium, saw the Kings deliver a dominant all-round performance to secure a memorable victory in one of the most exciting CPL seasons to date.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Kings restricted the Warriors from putting up a challenging total. The GAW posted a total of 138 for 8 in 20 overs. Dwaine Pretorius anchored the innings with a superb knock of 25 runs off 12 balls in the lower order. His innings was laced with crisp boundaries and well-timed sixes, providing the backbone for the Guyana Amazon Warriors batting effort. Contributions from Shai Hope and Romario Shepherd of 22 and 19 off 24 and 9 also helped the team post a good score, despite some disciplined bowling from the St. Lucia Kings.

Early breakthroughs put the Kings under pressure, with wickets tumbling at regular intervals, however, Roston Chase and Aaron Jones showed some resistance with a quickfire 39 and 48, helping St. Lucia win the match by 6 wickets.
Roston Chase’s all-round brilliance was on full display as he also chipped in with crucial wicket during the middle overs. His performance with both bat and ball earned him the Player of the Match award, capping off a stellar outing.
