Sarfaraz Khan, a talented Mumbai batter, suffered a left index finger injury while training with the Delhi Capitals, and he is now unable to compete for Rest of India in the Irani Cup.

Sarfaraz didn’t participate in the Sunday warm-up game at Eden Gardens. In two days, the Irani Cup will begin in Gwalior.

With his finger in a protective fibre cast due to the injury, Sarfaraz was unable to bat or play in the field for the day.

He was giving his teammates energy drinks, though.

In front of coach Sourav Ganguly and assistant coach Praveen Amre, Prithvi Shaw, a teammate of Sarfaraz’s from Mumbai, was playing at the top of his game during the practise game.

Shaw, on the other hand, departed the field after the hitting session and hurried to the airport to board an aircraft headed for Bengaluru. He needs to show up at the NCA for a camp.
