David Miller confirms, South African stars to miss opening round of IPL 2023 for Netherlands ODI

The IPL 2023 season will start from March 31, in which the first match will be played between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The bad news that has come out for Gujarat before this match is that the team’s match-winner player David Miller will not be able to take part in the first few matches, about which the franchise has also expressed a lot of disappointment.

Actually, the South African team has to play 2 ODIs against the Netherlands, which are also part of the World Cup Super League. Both these matches will be played on March 31 and April 2, so David Miller will be able to join the Gujarat Titans team only after that. It is very important for the South African team to win both these matches to qualify directly for the ODI World Cup to be played in India this year.

David Miller revealed during the press conference that his franchise has expressed disappointment over not being able to play in their opening matches. Miller said that playing in Ahmedabad has always been a big deal and that too in the match against Chennai. I am definitely a little disappointed for not being able to play in this match, but considering the importance of this ODI series, I had to take a decision to participate in it. Due to this, I will not be able to play only one match.

In this ODI series, other important players of the South African team may also not be seen participating in the initial few matches of the IPL. The first name in this is the new captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, Adin Markram, apart from this, the names of Marco Yansin and Heinrich Klaasen can also be seen. Although the African team has not yet been announced for the ODI series against the Netherlands, but the names of these players are expected to be included.
