The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management is worried over the England National Cricket Team all-rounder Moeen Ali’s delay in arrival because of visa issues.
Moeen Ali performed marvellously for the CSK in the IPL 2021 and played an imperative role in the team’s win in the tourney, and eventually, he was preserved by the franchise before the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 8 crore.
In the meantime, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has stated that Moeen Ali had applied for his visa on 28th of February and he is yet to get his travel papers. Moreover, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is assisting the franchise to get Moeen as soon as possible.
Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise stated, “He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been a frequent traveller to India and yet he has not got the travel papers. We are hoping he will join the team soon. He has told us that he will take the very next flight after getting the papers.”
“Even the BCCI has got itself involved to help us. We are hoping that he will get the papers by Monday”, he added.
Chennai Super Kings will start their IPL 2022 campaign with the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on 26th of March.
