The BCCI secretary Jay Shah and PCB chief Zaka Ashraf recently met on 11 July in South Africa to finalize the fate of India’s matches in Asia Cup 2023. Previously, India had completely denied travelling to the neighbouring country, Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 and demanded a neutral venue for the games to be played.
After the meeting, it has been confirmed that the Indian cricket team will not be travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and instead, all their matches will be conducted in Sri Lanka. Notably, eight, and the news for the Asia Cup have already been decided but are yet to be officially revealed.
The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled from 31st August to 17 September. It has also been revealed that only four matches will be played in Pakistan and the rest of the tournament will be hosted by Sri Lanka. The most anticipated game of the Asia Cup, 2023, India vs Pakistan is speculated to be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

“Our secretary met PCB head Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalised and it is on course as it was discussed earlier. There will be four games of league stage in Pakistan, followed by 9 games in Sri Lanka including both India versus Pakistan game and in case a third game if both teams play final,” said Arun Dhumal while having an exclusive chat with The Times of India.
“There was no such discussion held. Neither India is travelling to Pakistan nor our secretary will be travelling contrary to reports that have surfaced. Only the schedule was finalised,” he added.
