India’s athletes had a busy schedule on July 27, 2024, at the Olympics in Paris. The day started with badminton at 12 PM. H S Prannoy and Lakshya Sen competed in the Men’s Singles Group Stage, while P V Sindhu fought in the Women’s Singles Group Stage. The Men’s Doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and the Women’s Doubles duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa also took to the courts.
Rowing saw Balraj Panwar competing in the Men’s Single Sculls Heats at 12:30 PM. Concurrently, the Shooting events began with the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team qualification featuring Sandeep Singh, Arjun Babuta, Elavenil Valarivan, and Ramita Jindal. Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema aimed for glory in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s qualification at 2 PM, while the Mixed Team Medal Rounds followed at the same time.
In tennis, Sumit Nagal played in the Men’s Singles 1st round, and Rohan Bopanna alongside N. Sriram Balaji competed in the Men’s Doubles from 3:30 PM. Rhythm Sangwan and Manu Bhaker participated in the 10m Air Pistol Women’s Qualification at 4 PM.
The evening saw table tennis preliminary rounds from 6:30 PM, featuring Sharath Kamal and Harmeet Desai in Men’s Singles, and Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula in Women’s Singles. At 7 PM, Preeti Pawar competed in the Women’s 54kg boxing Round of 32, while the Indian men’s hockey team faced New Zealand in a crucial Group B match at 9 PM.
