India Asian Games 2026 Medal Tally as of September 29: 6 Gold, 21 Silver and 26 Bronze

India continued to add medals at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 29. By 6:17 pm IST, India had won 53 medals at the Games.

The tally stood at 6 gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze medals. India added several medals during the day, with shooting, athletics and boxing producing major results.

India adds more medals on September 29

Neeru Dhanda gave India its fifth gold medal of the Games. She won the women’s individual trap event with a score of 28 and set a new Asian record. She had earlier won silver in the women’s trap team event with Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer.

India then added more medals in athletics. Gulveer Singh won bronze in the men’s 5000m. It was his third individual medal at the Games after silver medals in the 1500m and 10,000m.

Pooja Singh also won bronze in the women’s high jump after clearing 1.84m. India’s mixed 4x100m relay team also took bronze with a national record of 41.06.

The biggest athletics moment came in the women’s 4x400m relay. Kiran Pahal, Machettira Raju Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj won gold in 3:29.69. This was India’s first athletics gold at Aichi-Nagoya and took the country’s gold-medal tally to six.

India’s men’s 4x400m relay team also won bronze in 3:01.61, adding another medal to the tally.

In boxing, Narender Berwal secured bronze in the men’s +90kg category. Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal reached their respective finals and assured India of at least two more silver medals.

Dev Meena also broke his own national record in the men’s pole vault by clearing 5.50m.

India’s men’s cricket team has reached the semi-finals after rain washed out the quarter-finals. India will face Sri Lanka, while Pakistan will meet Bangladesh.

With several events still remaining, India’s medal tally could rise further before the Asian Games conclude.
