Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru owner Vijay Mallya celebrated the franchise’s big win over Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2026. RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by 92 runs on Tuesday, May 26, to secure their place in the final for the second straight season.
RCB delivered a dominant performance in Dharamshala. Batting first, the defending champions posted a huge total of 254 runs. Captain Rajat Patidar led the charge with a stunning knock of 93 runs from just 33 balls. His explosive innings helped RCB put the Titans under massive pressure from the start.
Vijay Mallya Praises RCB’s Dominant Win
After the match, Vijay Mallya shared his excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter. The former owner once again used his famous phrase for the Bengaluru franchise and praised the team for their powerful display.
“Many Many congratulations to RCB namma dodda Simhagulu for an emphatic victory in Dharamshala tonight. You roared loud like the Lions of Bengaluru and roared into the IPL final as defending champions,” Vijay Mallya posted on X (formerly Twitter).
RCB’s bowlers also played an important role in the victory. The Gujarat Titans were bowled out for just 162 runs while chasing 255. Fast bowler Jacob Duffy starred with the ball and picked up three wickets.
Even though Mallya is no longer connected with the franchise officially, he regularly supports the team on social media. Many RCB fans continue to appreciate his loyalty towards the franchise. Last year, his congratulatory message after RCB’s maiden IPL title win received huge engagement online.
RCB are now aiming to become only the third team in IPL history to successfully defend their title. The team will now prepare for the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31.
