Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in Line for India Debut After Impressive IPL 2026 Performances

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee is planning a big move. They want to reward young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his strong performances in IPL 2026.

The 15-year-old is now in contention for India’s squad. The team will play a T20I series against Ireland in June. The series will take place after the end of Indian Premier League 2026.

If Sooryavanshi gets a chance, he will create history. He could become India’s youngest international player. He may break the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted at the age of 16.

India will play two T20 matches in Ireland. The matches are scheduled for June 26 and June 28.

“He is in contention for the Ireland tour and the selectors have shortlisted his name along with those of many other players,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi‘s fearless batting impresses selectors

The selectors are impressed with Sooryavanshi’s fearless batting. He plays bold cricket against top bowlers. He represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

He recently attacked Jasprit Bumrah. He hit two sixes off him in just five balls. One six came on the very first delivery.

He also played a strong over against Josh Hazlewood. He scored 19 runs in that over with three boundaries and a six.

Not just that, he also hit back-to-back sixes against Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The selectors believe Ireland will be a good start for him. It will give him international exposure. A good performance there can help him get picked for the Zimbabwe tour in July.

India are expected to play three matches in Zimbabwe between July 23 and 26.
