IPL 2026: Yuzvendra Chahal bags huge praise from PBKS Management ahead of KKR Clash

Punjab Kings are off to a strong start in IPL 2026. They have won both of their opening matches. The team now aims to make it three wins in a row. They will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Monday, April 6.

Ahead of the match, Punjab’s assistant bowling coach Trevor Gonsalves praised veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-spinner has been in good form this season. He has taken three wickets in two matches with an economy rate of 7.

Gonsalves spoke about Chahal’s hard work and dedication. He said the experienced bowler has been putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes. He believes this is helping Chahal improve his game further.

Chahal’s work ethic impresses team management

“Yuzvendra Chahal is a very dangerous name in Indian cricket. And overseas, he is even more dangerous. What I have seen in the last couple of years is that he is so serious, both on and off the field. He just wants to get going and win games for the side,” Gonsalves said on the eve of their IPL match against KKR via NDTV.

The coach also highlighted Chahal’s commitment during training sessions. He said the spinner is always active and involved with the team.

“He has been at every practice session, every single camp. He is the front-runner in all those camps and the most involved guy in this set-up. It’s always like he just wants to perform, he wants to be the top guy for the side. That’s the kind of commitment he brings,” he added.

Chahal will be a key player against KKR’s strong batting lineup. Punjab Kings will be confident after their winning start. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders are under pressure after losing their first two matches. Fans will be hoping for a full game, as rain is expected in Kolkata.
