Rajasthan Royals endured a forgettable IPL 2025 season, finishing ninth on the points table with just eight points from 14 matches. They managed to avoid the bottom spot only because their net run rate was better than Chennai Super Kings’.
Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, RR had a purse of INR 16.05 crore and nine slots to fill, with only one available for an overseas player. The 2008 champions made some bold moves before the auction by trading in Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, and Donovan Ferreira.
At the auction, their costliest buy was Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who was picked up for INR 7.2 crore. They used their lone overseas slot to sign New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne. Their other additions included Sushant Mishra, Yash Raj Punja, Vignesh Puthur, Ravi Singh, Aman Rao, Brijesh Sharma, and Kuldeep Sen.
