The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is currently being played in India’s domestic cricket season. After it ends, the Vijay Hazare Trophy will begin on December 24. This season has drawn huge attention from fans. The main reason is the return of former India captain Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli last played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2009–10 season. After 15 long years, he is set to return to the tournament. He will once again represent Delhi. His comeback has created massive excitement among cricket lovers across the country.

Virat Kohli’s Match Fee and Likely Games for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025
The BCCI follows a fixed pay structure for domestic cricket. This is based only on a player’s List A experience. Players with 20 or fewer List A matches earn INR 40,000 per match. Those with 21 to 40 matches earn INR 50,000 per match. Players with 41 or more matches earn INR 60,000 per match.
Virat Kohli has played more than 300 List A matches. So, he falls into the highest category. This means he will earn INR 60,000 per match for Delhi.
Delhi are scheduled to play seven league matches in the tournament. However, Kohli is not expected to play all of them. As per reports, he is likely to feature in only three matches. These matches are on December 24 against Andhra, December 26 against Gujarat, and January 6 against Railways.
Delhi are placed in Group D. The group also includes Haryana, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Services, Odisha, Railways, and Andhra Pradesh. The league stage will end on January 11. The knockout matches will start from January 12.
Virat Kohli’s earlier record in the Vijay Hazare Trophy is excellent. Between 2008 and 2010, he played 12 matches. He scored 763 runs at an average of 69.33. He also hit four centuries and two half-centuries. His past performance shows his strong dominance in domestic one-day cricket.
