The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the full schedule for the Women’s Premier League 2026. The fourth season of the tournament will begin on January 9 and will end on February 5. The matches will be played in two cities. These are Navi Mumbai and Vadodara.
Navi Mumbai to Host Opening Leg of the WPL 2026 Season
The season will begin with a big opening match in Navi Mumbai. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first game. The Navi Mumbai leg will run from January 9 to January 17. A total of 11 matches will be played at this venue. These games will set the tempo for the rest of the tournament.
After January 17, the league will move to Vadodara. The city will host the remaining 11 matches of the tournament. This will include all the important knockout games. The action in Vadodara will begin on January 19 with Gujarat Giants taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Soon after, Delhi Capitals will meet Mumbai Indians in a repeat of the 2025 final.
League matches will continue until February 1. After that, there will be a short gap before the playoffs. The Eliminator will be played on Tuesday, February 3. This match will be between the teams placed second and third in the points table. The winner of the Eliminator will move into the Final.
The team that finishes first in the league stage will qualify directly for the Final. The Final will be played on Thursday, February 5 in Vadodara. The night will end with the crowning of the new WPL champion.
The recent mega auction held in New Delhi has reshaped all team squads. Many young Indian players have earned key roles. Several experienced international stars are also part of the teams. This mix is expected to bring more competition and excitement.
