Cricket South Africa Confirms Tour to Bangladesh After Security Assessment

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has officially given the green light for their upcoming tour of Bangladesh, following a comprehensive security assessment. Concerns were initially raised about the safety of the players and staff, leading CSA to conduct a thorough evaluation of the situation in Bangladesh. After positive feedback from their security delegation, CSA has now confirmed the tour will proceed as planned.

The Proteas are scheduled to visit Bangladesh for a bilateral series, which will include three ODIs and two Test matches. The tour is set to begin in mid-November, with matches taking place in Dhaka and Chattogram. This tour is an important part of both teams’ preparations for the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 and the qualification process for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

In a statement, CSA expressed confidence in the security arrangements provided by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which include high-level protection for the players and officials throughout the tour.

“We have received satisfactory assurances regarding the safety of our players and support staff,” said CSA’s Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe. “The BCB has been proactive in ensuring a secure environment, and we look forward to an exciting series.”

The confirmation of the tour is a positive development for both teams, as it strengthens international cricket relations and provides valuable competitive opportunities ahead of crucial global tournaments.
