Where to watch the Paris Olympics 2024 in India for free? All you need to know

India will be strongly represented at the Paris 2024 Olympics, with over 100 athletes competing in 69 events across 16 sports. 

The Games, officially beginning on July 26, will feature some preliminary competitions, such as football, rugby sevens, handball, and archery, before the Opening Ceremony.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will be broadcast live on Sports18 Network TV channels and streamed on the JioCinema app and website for free.

India’s Olympic campaign starts on July 25 with the archery ranking rounds. Six archers will lead the charge, including stars Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai. This comes after India’s record-breaking performance at Tokyo 2020, securing seven medals: one gold, two silvers, and four bronzes.

Indian Athletes to Shine in Paris Olympics 2024 

Notably, Neeraj Chopra won gold in men’s javelin throw, becoming the first Indian to achieve this feat in athletics. Chopra, also a world and Asian Games champion, aims to defend his title in Paris, with events scheduled for August 6 and 8. Other medal hopes include weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, badminton player PV Sindhu, and boxer Lovlina Borgohain. The Indian men’s hockey team, which ended a 41-year Olympic medal drought with a bronze in Tokyo, seeks to build on that success.

Upcoming talents like hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, badminton players Lakshya Sen and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, boxer Nikhat Zareen, tennis player Sumit Nagal, and wrestler Antim Panghal are set to make their mark. Shooter Manu Bhaker leads a 21-member shooting team, aiming to overcome past setbacks.

Veteran tennis player Rohan Bopanna, at 44, is the oldest in the squad, while 14-year-old swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu is the youngest. PV Sindhu is vying to become the first Indian to win three individual Olympic medals. Equestrian Anush Agarwalla will debut in dressage, marking a historic first for India.
